Michael Tobin

Since first hearing of his wife’s dream of owning her own salon in 2005, Michael, co-owner and Natalie Tobin’s husband, made it his goal to encourage her and help turn her dream into a reality with the opening of Runway Hair Studio! With their combined skills, ability, and expertise, the Tobins were able to provide Albuquerque’s westside with a premier AVEDA salon and barbershop.

Behind the scenes of a salon there is a substantial amount of work to be done and like any successful business, requires someone who is knowledgeable and committed. While Natalie takes care of the salon side of things, Michael dedicates his time and talents to the business side, and is responsible for everything from finances and taxes to IT and legal matters. Although this position is demanding and the work is strenuous, Michael is devoted to it in the same way he is devoted to his wife – unconditionally, and believes that there is nothing more important than being a constant support to her and her dream.

Alongside his wife, Michael is a co-owner of Runway Hair and loves being a part of the joy and confidence it brings to their clients. He applauds his employees for their ability to transform not only a client’s hair and style, but their day and experience through kind conversation and expert service. Overall, he considers himself grateful to meet and work with such talented, compelling people—both his employees and clients!

Aside from Runway Hair, Michael is a full-time firefighter, husband, and dad and wholeheartedly loves it all! Being a firefighter for over 15 years, he’s always loved the fact that his job allows him to help people and gives him the privilege to drive a fire truck! When he is not in the truck or salon, he enjoys camping, cooking, visiting the lake, maintenancing vehicles, and spending time with his son and wife building lifelong, lasting memories!
